Revolt on Alpha C

Every science fiction fan worth his NaCl has read Grand Master Robert Silverberg. The Man in the Maze, Nightwings, you know the list. The most important book, Revolt on Alpha C (© '55, Tab), is the stealth member of his biblography. Ask any fan about their first and you'll get a YA from Heinlein or something similar. But press the point and you'll hear, "Oh yeah, I remember that one." Shipped under the radar on the Scholastic Book Services imprint, sold for a quarter right under the teachers' nose, this was the samizdat that snared our impressionable young minds.
...And after that first forbidden taste; Asimov, Tom Swift, Clarke, Star Trek, boxes of comics and paperbacks under the bed....
